GOALS AND OBJECTIVES OF TALESUFO

OUR GOALS

Provide funding for worthy educational projects, enrichment programs and other educational initiatives

Provide a means for friends of multicultural education to channel contributions through TALESUFO.

Work in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training to identify and evaluate educational needs in the country.

Work in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry, Trade & Marketing to develop human resources in specialized fields.

 OBJECTIVES

.1.  The Organization’s objectives shall be:

.1.1. To assist institutions in supporting more effective teaching and learning and/or controlling costs. Examples of funded projects that achieve these objectives include:  

.1.1.1. Projects that improve the curriculum, the learning environment, assessment of learning outcomes, faculty development, incentive systems, and administrative structures.

.1.1.2. Collaborative efforts among schools, colleges and universities to reduce costs and improve learning.

.1.2. To promote lifelong learning and create a climate for interaction among Tanzania learners and educators.

.1.2.1. Lifelong learning is fundamental, not only for competitiveness, and economic prosperity of Tanzania, but also for social inclusion, employability, active citizenship and the personal fulfillment of people. Individuals must be able to update and complement their knowledge, competences and skills throughout life.

.1.3. To support the development and implementation of inquiry-based learning at all educational levels in Tanzania, particularly in the fields of mathematics, science and technology.

.1.3.1. An adequate supply of highly qualified scientists is crucial for competing successfully in the global knowledge-based economy.

.1.4. To assist minor sectors of the community by providing them with relevant education and information in order to improve their living conditions, with particular emphasis on women, street children, orphans, disabled and HIV/AIDS victims.

.1.5. To create an opportunity for every Tanzanian high school graduate who is serious about continuing their education, but cannot afford to do so.

.1.6. To mobilize financial resources and channel them to schools and colleges to finance for teaching and learning programs geared towards combating environmental problems in the country. Examples of funded projects that achieve these objectives include:

.1.6.1. Safeguarding and improving the environment.

.1.6.2. Developing the natural resource base by improving farming, grazing, and mining and forest conservation techniques.

.1.6.3. Creating sustainable environments for socio-economic sectors, i.e. agriculture and livestock, mining, industry, health, water and natural resources.

.1.7. To mobilize financial resources and channel them to schools and colleges to finance for teaching and learning programs geared towards the awareness and study of alternative energy. Examples of funded projects that achieve these objectives include:

.1.7.1. Biomass energy

.1.7.2. Wind energy.

.1.7.3. Solar energy

.1.7.4. Geothermal energy

.1.7.5. Hydroelectric energy

.1.8. To mobilize financial resources and channel them to schools and colleges to finance for teaching and learning programs geared towards recycling.
